CBSE finally has confirmed they will declare this year’s 10th and 12th results by July 20 and July 31, respectively.

Today, CBSE submitted the evaluation criteria for awarding marks to Class 12th students before Supreme Court.

The board said we would form a five-member result committee in every school. Out of these five members, one member will be the school principal. Two members will be the two senior-most teachers of the school, and the remaining two members will be the two teachers from the neighboring senior secondary schools.

These five members will decide the marks of the theory part.

CBSE Class 12th 2021 Examination Evaluation Criteria

The marks in the theory part will be calculated in the ratio of 40:30:30.

Students will get 40% marks based on their performance in Class 12th, 30% marks based on their performance in Class 11th and the remaining 30% marks based on their performance in Class 10th.

One or more Unit Tests, Mid Terms or Pre-boards will decide the 40% theory marks. The five-member committee will decide the number of Unit tests, pre-boards, or Midterms considered to calculate the marks fairly.

The marks obtained in the Class 11th final theory part will decide the 30% theory marks.

The marks obtained in the best of three subjects in Class 10th board will decide the remaining 30% theory marks of Class 12th.

Well, this is about the theory part. What about the practical one.

In practicals, CBSE will directly give the marks submitted by the schools.

CBSE has given July 15 as the last date to submit the marks of students by the schools.

Apart from the above, CBSE has said, students who will not be satisfied with their marks will be allowed to participate in offline examinations once the situation is normal.

So, from above, you can see that this is the first time in the history of CBSE that the marks of class 12th students are evaluated based on their performance in Class 10th, 11th and 12th, respectively.

Standardization Process for Schools

Now, here one more thing is missing. What about if the schools allot more marks to their students as out of five members, three-member are from the school itself.

Well, for the same, CBSE has directed another standardization process.

CBSE has said that “the total marks awarded by the school should resonate with the past performance of the school in Class 12th”.

Suppose in session 2017-18, a school gets an average percentage of marks of class 12th as 72%, In 2018-19, they get 74%, and In 2019-20, they get 71% then, the school will use the subject wise averages of session 2018-19 for allocating the marks. I meant to say, 2018-19 will be the reference year for allocating marks.
