# What is LPG Composite Cylinder? How do we get it in India?

IOCL has introduced Composite Cylinders so that people can get cost-effective and lightweight LPG cylinders that do not even rust.

The surface of the LPG Composite Cylinder is made up of a total of three layers.

The innermost layer is made of high-density polyethylene.

It has a fiberglass coating on it.

After this, the outermost surface is also made of high-density polyethylene.

The weight of this cylinder is 5 to 10 kg.

Being transparent, users can easily see the gas-filled inside this cylinder.

With this, they get to know how much gas is present inside the cylinder, which helps them to plan their next refill comfortably.

On one hand, due to the absence of rust in this cylinder, its lifetime increases, while on the other hand, due to being made of high-density polyethylene, it has high strength.

## **Price**

To buy a 10 Kg LPG Composite Cylinder in India, people have to pay **Rs 3350** to the agency while for a 5 Kg cylinder one has to pay **Rs 2150**.

However, if you are an existing Indane customer, you can replace your steel cylinder and get a composite cylinder. For this, you just have to take the steel cylinder and subscription paper of the gas connection to your gas agency.

Once all the documents are verified, the amount for your old cylinder will be deducted to get the new composite cylinder.

For example, if you had bought your old cylinder for Rs 2000, then you have to pay only Rs 1350 to get a composite cylinder if the cost of the composite cylinder is Rs 3350.
