It’s almost 22 years after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Ajay Devgn is working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali to cameo in his upcoming Biographical Crime Movie Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actor is reportedly playing the role of gangster Karim Lala in the movie helping Gangubai (played by Alia Bhatt) to achieve her a powerful position.
Beside Ajay, Emraan Hashmi and Huma Qureshi also has special appearance in the movie. One will see Huma in the item song in this move.
Well those of you who don’t know, Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on some chapters of Husaain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The film shows the life of Gangubai Kathiawadi who was sold into prostitution by her boyfriend Ramnik Lal and how she becomes the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura.
Earlier, it was planned, Priyanka Chopra to play the role of Gangubai when the movie was named Heera Mandi but later on when the name of the movie get changed to Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia was appointed to play the lead role that is of Gangubai.
Beside Alia, other stars who are in lead role in the movie are Shantanu Maheshwari as Ramnik Lal, Vijay Raaz, and Seema Pahwa.
This is the first time Alia is working in any of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali picture. The movie is planned release in Diwali this year however, everyone is waiting for the official announcement.
