Election Commission Digital Voter ID Card

This National Voters Day that is on January 25, 2021, the election commission of India is launching Digital Voter ID Cards.

These Digital Voter ID Cards will be called e-EPIC that means Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card.

These Digital Voter ID Cards will be launched in phases.

In the first phase that is from January 25 to January 31, only the new voters who have applied for their voter cards and have their mobile number registered with the election commission can download the electronic voter id card.

Do note that these digital voter id cards will be downloadable in PDF file format.

The new voters not just get the digital copy of their electronic voter id card, but will also get the hard copy. The election commission of India will send the hard copy of their digital voter id card on the address the voter has provided to the commission.

The second phase of digital voter id card distribution starts from February 1, 2021.

In the second phase all voters can download their Electronic Voter ID Cards, but their phone number must be registered.

In case a voter has not registered his/her phone number then he/she first has to register his/her phone number with the commission to download the digital voter id card.

The Digital Voter ID card has a secured QR code with images and demographics like serial number, part number etc.

One can also store his/her digital voter id card on his/her digilocker account.

Below I have explained how one can download these cards.

How to download the Digital Voter ID Card?

Users can download the digital voter id card from any of the below mentioned two websites.

  1. https://voterportal.eci.gov.in
  2. https://nvsp.in/Account/Login

If you don’t have an account on any of these sites, then first create an account either by your mobile number or email ID.

Once done then check for any E-EPIC Card Link from 11:14 am onwards from yesterday.

Looking at the upcoming assembly elections in five states – West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, it seems like the election commission is bringing this initiative.
