By e-PAN, a user can instantly get an electronic PAN number as soon as a submission of Application online. The Service is totally free and you just need an Aadhaar Card Number to apply for this process. Moreover, those people who already have a PAN card cannot generate an electronic PAN Number. Note that you can generate an e-PAN only when your Aadhaar Number is linked with a mobile number. This is because your mobile number will receive an OTP. Moreover, you have not linked a mobile number with your Aadhaar Number yet then, you can do so by visiting the site https://resident.uidai.gov.in/verify-email-mobile.

When you sure about your mobile number and Aadhaar Card number links with each other, then visit the site https://portal.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-Filing/Services/ePAN.html.

Then, click on the Apply instant e-PAN tab which is present below.

Now Click on the tab labeled as 2. Aadhaar e-KYC

Enter your Title, First Name, Middle Name, and Last name same as in your Aadhaar Card.

Then, fill out your Date of Birth, Gender and Aadhaar Number in the section given.

Then, Check the box and click on the submit button.

As soon as you click on the submit button your mobile number which you link with your Aadhaar receives an OTP. Filling out the OTP completes your Aadhaar e-KYC process.

Now, to get the e-PAN, you need a scanned copy of your signature on white paper with a maximum resolution of 200 DPI. The file type of the signature must be JPEG with a maximum size of 10 KB and dimension 2*4.5cm.

Then, Upload the signature and click on the submit button.

Now, The portal sends you a 15 digit of Acknowledgement number on the mobile number you provided earlier. This 15 digit Acknowledgement number is your e-PAN number.
