Odisha extends Lockdown till April 30 following COVID-19

Odisha Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik today post a tweet via his official Twitter handle revealing Odisha government has decided to extend the state lockdown till April 30th. In the same tweet, Odisha CM also requested Union Government to extent the nationwide lockdown till the same period. The CM also ask the Central Government not to start the train and air service during the lockdown period.

Well, after this Odisha now became the first Indian state to extend the lockdown period after April 15. Do note that to crack COVID-19 outbreak in the country the Central Government has already implemented a 21 day nation wide lockdown that is going to complete on April 15. However, it looks like after analysing the current situation of the state, the Odisha Government has made this decision.

At the time of writing this article, Odisha reported so far 42 positive COVID-19 cases and out of which COVID-19 has killed 1 person in the state.

Mr. Patnaik has said that during the lockdown period essensial services will remain open. On the other side, all the schools and colleges in the state will remain closed till June 17. The Odisha CM also urges people to cooperate with the state government officials and help them stop spreading COVID-19 in the state.
