Today, Election Commission ask Ram Gopal Varma not to release Laxmi NTR on May 1. Note that Laxmi NTR is an upcoming Telugu Biopic movie. It is based on the life of former Actor and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao. ECI ask Ram Gopal Varma to not release this movie until they further provide some clarification.
Earlier, the producer of this film sends a letter to EC officials regarding the release of this movie. However, On April 10, EC Officials clear them not to release any controversial movie, until code of conduct is flowing in the state.
After, that Ram Gopal Varma also wrote several letter to EC about this issue. After receiving several letters from him, EC explains they would not allow him to release a movie that violates the code of conduct. They also explain him this movie is negatively influencing the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu.
Ram Gopal Varma plots this movie story by taking data from NT Rama Rao in his last days. Also, with his second wife, Lakshmi Parvati.
