In view of the current epidemic in India, the Government of India has increased the validity of all types of motor vehicle documents till September 30. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, through its official Twitter handle, has shared this information among the people. However, it was also told in this tweet that this information has been given to all the state and union territories of India and this facility will now be available to people living in all the states and union territories of India.
Talking about the documents related to motor vehicle, it includes driving license, fitness, permit, registration etc. Apart from this, the advisory sent to the states in this context states that if a motor vehicle related document expires from February 1 to May 31, then its validity will be till September 30.
Apart from this, in the advisory, the Center has directed all the states to incorporate this new rule under the Motor Vehicle Act 1988.
