Justice Ranjan Gogoi designated as the Next Chief Justice of India. President Ram Nath Kovind appoints Justice Ranjan Gogoi as the Next Chief Justice of India. On October 2, the current Chief Justice Deepak Mishra will retire. We already discussed in one of our early posts that Justice Gogoi will be the next CJI.

According to the Indian Constitution and rites, The post of chief justice is allotting to the person who is the next most senior judge on the Supreme Court tribunal. This is why the Supreme Court Bench elected Justice Gogoi’s signature. All of them were waiting for the government’s consent. So now the favored consent has come, then Justice Gogoi will take over the space of next CJI. Although, He earns the CJI post from October 2, 2018.

Justice Gogoi has already been a Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court back in 2011 to 2013. He appoints as a Judge on the Supreme Court Bench back in April 2012. 63-year-old Justice Gogoi will secure the office of Chief Justice of India for a total of 13 months. Moreover, later he retires in November 2019.
