Prime Minister Modi Launches Atal Bhujal Yojana

Atal Bhujal Yojana was first approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister on Tuesday. At the same time, 6000 crore funds were also allocated to this scheme. Now today, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of this scheme in New Delhi. The goal of this scheme is to supply groundwater to every household in the country by the year 2024.

Prime Minister Modi told that former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee always talk about groundwater, while his dream was to transport groundwater to every house in India. Now today, on his 95th birth anniversary, through this scheme, we have set a goal to supply groundwater to every household in the country by the year 2024.

Atal Bhujal Yojana will be completed in the coming 5 years, while 7 states will participate in it. The names of these seven states are Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. One more goal of this scheme is to provide more and more water to the farmers so that they provoke their income.

Now, With this Yojana, 8350 gram panchayats of 78 districts of these seven states will get groundwater quickly. The World Bank has sanctioned half the amount of Rs. 6000, which is given by the Central Government to this scheme. The Central Government will soon hand over this amount to the states mentioned above.
