UIDAI starts taking GST on some Aadhaar services: Intro

Now, UIDAI starts taking GST on some Aadhaar services. The GST rate will be 18 percent. It means that now if you have to update anything in your Aadhar card, then you have to give 5 more rupees. Additionally, UIDAI has placed some services of Aadhar cards in the free category, whereas for other they are taking charges.

UIDAI starts taking GST on some Aadhaar services: Updation costs you 30 rupees.

Now, if you update the details of any Adult’s Aadhaar card, then you will be charged 25 rupees without GST. On the other hand, This same service will be completely free for the children.

Updating demographic details will also cost you Rs. 25. By Demographic details, we mean name, address, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email id.

At the same time when 18% GST is charged on these services then the value of these services becomes 29 rupees 50 paise. That’s why we said that now you have to pay 30 rupees for updating Aadhaar Card details.

For which service you have to pay Rs. 10 and 20?

If you want the black and white print out of your Aadhar card, then you have to pay Rs. 10 rupees. On the other hand, if you get the colour print out of your Aadhaar card, then you have to pay Rs. 20.

Which services are in Free Category?

First: Enrollment is completely free for Aadhar card.

Second: Updating children’s biometric details in Aadhar card is also totally free.

UIDAI Insist: Do not pay more

UIDAI has also tweeted on there Twitter handle, to not give more amount than the predefined charges.

They said that if any Aadhaar center asks you to pay money for any of the free services then you can make a complaint by calling us at our toll free no. i.e. 1947. Apart from this, you can also send an email to [email protected].

UIDAI officials also say that do not forget to take the receipt of the charged service.
